Husn al-Dhann

Husn al-Dhann (Arabic: حسن الظن) is a very beautiful Islamic teaching. It means in other words:

  • Avoiding suspicion as much as humanly possible
  • Giving the benefit of the doubt.
  • Thinking good and positively, despite what it might look/sound/feel like.
  • Not jumping to conclusions, or making assumptions.

If we treat our brothers & sisters as we would love to be treated, and also practice the principle of Husn al-Dhann; we will lead a better life and have less misunderstandings.

There is a saying about thinking of seventy-somethin' excuses for our brothers & sisters before even beginning to judge them.

When was the last time I personally thought of even seven excuses before misunderstanding others?!

Allah said in Qur'an:

049:012 O ye who believe! carefully avoid suspicion; verily, some suspicion is a sin. And do not play the spy, nor backbite each other; would one of you like to eat his dead brother's flesh?--why! ye would abhor it! then fear God; verily, God is relentant, compassionate.

Chapter 49, verse 12 - Palmer English translation.

I Can

I believe I can.

Money is a hard concept to get, when one is focused on how to have it.

I Know You

I know you.

I do.

You are the choices you make/take.

You are what you eat.

You are what you read.

You are your dominant thought.

You are what you focus on the most.

You are the actions you take.

You are what you keep talking about.

You are as smart/wise/intelligent as the people you're associated with.

You are what you write.

You are the words you choose to use.

You are a fellow human being, just like me, with organs just like me, and heart and mind just like me.

What Book

Careful what books you choose to read.

They speak volumes of you.

Books you choose tell me about your interests. About your focus. About how wise you are in choices.

You are what you read.

Sabayon 3.3 Installation Error

I'm trying Sabayon 3.3 (x86 full DVD edition), and trying to install it on my hard disk by clicking on Install on Disk (meaning anaconda) on the desktop.
  1. I get the Welcome to Sabayon Linux message, and I click Next.
  2. In Language Selection I choose English (English) which is the default, and I click Next.
  3. In Keyboard Configuration, I pick the default which is U.S. English.
  4. Clicking Next here gives/generates two messages, one of them says "Searching for Sabayon Linux Installations..." and the other one is the following:
Exception Occurred
An unhandled exception has occurred. This is most likely a bug. Please copy the full text of this exception or save the crash dump to a floppy then file a detailed bug report against anaconda at

Jim Rohn Quotes

"Asking is the beginning of receiving..."

"Miss a meal if you have to, but don't miss a book."

"Let others lead small lives, but not you. Let others argue over small things, but not you. Let others cry over small hurts, but not you. Let others leave their future in someone else's hands, but not you."

"Don't wish it were easier, wish you were better."

"Make measurable progress in reasonable time."

"Failure is simply a few errors in judgment, repeated every day."

"Either you run the day or the day runs you."

"Giving is better than receiving because giving starts the receiving process."

"Ideas can be life-changing. Sometimes all you need to open the door is just one more good idea."

"Better understated than overstated. Let people be surprised that it was more than you promised and easier than you said."

"Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment."

"Character isn't something you were born with and can't change, like your fingerprints. It's something you weren't born with and must take responsibility for forming."

"It doesn't matter which side of the fence you get off on sometimes. What matters most is getting off. You cannot make progress without making decisions."

"Learning is the beginning of wealth. Learning is the beginning of health. Learning is the beginning of spirituality. Searching and learning is where the miracle process all begins."

"There are only 3 colors, 10 digits, and 7 notes; its what we do with them that's important."

"When you know what you want, and want it bad enough, you will find a way to get it."

"I wish for you a life of wealth, health and happiness; a life in which you give to yourself the gift of patience, the virtue of reason, the value of knowledge, and the influence of faith in your own ability to dream about and achieve worthy rewards."

Wake Me Up

What's the secret word to retain full control over our conscious & subconscious?

I wanna wake up! I need to wake up.

If I know my potentials and the amazing possibilities, what's it that's stopping me??

Is it fear? It's always about fears.

Is it that I don't know my potentials nor the amazing possibilities? It's like when I always say that you don't know something unless you do it and feel it. If you don't do it and feel it, then you don't know. You don't know.

Is it that I'm reading the wrong books? I'm reading all kinds of books. Good books, bad books, crappy books. Yet mostly are well-selected actually.

Is it that I'm waiting for someone to save me?

Can I blame illness? The weather? Etc..?

Is it that I don't have enough courage to face what we refer to as reality?

Is it that I was not given the manual of living?

Is it because I had no one to help with so many things, and the ones who are there did not know shit either?

Could it be that I'm living in my own world, which I created over the years in my head? My truths? The things that I focus on?

Is it that I'm simply lazy, or not pushing myself enough?

Is it that I followed others in turning more and more away from GOD? My origins? My identity? My true self? The really real me? The human angelic pure innocent me?

Is it my lusts? My desires? My fantasies?

What would it take to wake me up??
